What this is

ShroomsBloom offers wild Amanita muscaria var. muscaria, foraged in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia, dried, vacuum-sealed and cured in small batches. Every item on this site is sold strictly as a botanical specimen for collection and study.

What this is not

Our specimens are not food, not a supplement, not a medicine and not for consumption in any form. No health, wellness or therapeutic claims are made or implied anywhere on this site, and nothing here is advice of any kind. In its raw, fresh state Amanita muscaria (fly agaric) is toxic: a fresh cap is loaded with ibotenic acid, the compound responsible for poisoning reports. Careful drying and curing convert that ibotenic acid largely into muscimol - documented chemistry, and the reason traditional preparation never used the mushroom fresh. It is not, however, a statement that the result is safe to eat, and we make no such statement: our specimens are sold for collection and study only and must never be ingested.

People ask what it does. There is a great deal written about this mushroom, and we are not the ones who get to summarise it for you. Health Canada does not permit a business selling a botanical specimen to make health, wellness or therapeutic claims. So we make none, in either direction. And the literature would not let us make a simple claim even if we were allowed: the same reviews that discuss possible applications also record poisonings, hospital admissions and a firm warning against self-medication. Anyone who hands you a tidy answer about this mushroom is selling you something. Usually the mushroom.

Age policy - 19+

We sell to adults only. By reserving you confirm you are 19 years of age or older and are acquiring the specimen for collection and study.

Ordering & payment

A reservation from the collection holds your pouches from the current batch; no money is taken on the site. Payment is completed by Interac e-Transfer within Canada to info@shroomsbloom.ca - instructions and your reservation number arrive by email. Unpaid reservations release back to the batch after 72 hours.

Shipping & dispatch times

We ship within Canada only, flat and quiet, in unbranded packaging. Every pouch is vacuum-sealed.

Same-day dispatch: if your Interac e-Transfer clears before 6 pm Vancouver time (Pacific) on a business day, your parcel goes to the post office that same day. Payments that clear after 6 pm go out with the following business day's post.

You choose the service at checkout: a Canada Post tracked parcel at a flat C$19 anywhere in Canada (typically 2–8 business days depending on province), or Canada Post Xpresspost at C$32 (typically 1–3 business days). Both are tracked door to door. Orders of C$150 or more ship free by tracked parcel; Xpresspost then costs only the difference between the two services.

A note about our packaging, right now

Our custom-printed pouches and boxes, and the stamp that goes on them, have been ordered from a specialist packaging manufacturer, and production takes up to a month. Until that shipment arrives, your specimen will arrive in a plain vacuum-sealed pouch inside a courier envelope, with no branding on it.

Nothing about the specimen itself changes: the same caps, the same drying, the same three-month rest, the same seal. Only the outer packaging is temporary, and we would rather ship you an honest plain pouch today than make you wait a month for a printed one. Thank you for your understanding.

Returns

Because these are sealed botanical specimens, returns are accepted only while the vacuum seal is intact: the pouch must be unopened, undamaged and unused, in its original condition, and the request must reach us within 14 days of delivery.

Opened, punctured, resealed or otherwise damaged pouches cannot be returned or refunded under any circumstances - once a seal is broken we cannot verify or resell the specimen. Return shipping is the buyer's responsibility, and we recommend a tracked service. Write to info@shroomsbloom.ca with your reservation number before sending anything back.

This does not affect your rights if a parcel arrives damaged in transit or an order is wrong: send us a photo within 48 hours of delivery and we will make it right.

Privacy

We collect only what a reservation needs: your name, email and note. It is used to hold your pouches, send Interac instructions and ship your order - never sold, never shared for marketing. Write to info@shroomsbloom.ca to have your reservation data removed.
