    Each cap is taken by hand at the base - one from a colony, never more. The mycelium and the veiled eggs stay untouched, so the same stand fruits again next season. Single origin means exactly that: one dawn, one forest.

    Spruce needles and moss come off with a soft dry brush; the caps are never washed. Water dulls the brick-red and invites rot - a dried specimen stays honest only if it stays dry from the first minute.

    Thirty-six hours at 40 °C in moving air, then a brief 90 °C finish. The caps come out paper-light, colour held.
