It is the one to hold up to a lamp, and it is what most people have in mind when they set out to buy Amanita muscaria. Ground Powder is those same cured caps through a stone mill, a light cream-ochre, and it goes in a jar rather than a frame.
Whole caps keep their brick-red longer than powder does, having far less surface meeting the air. The storage notes in the journal set out how long each form holds its colour, and what takes it away.
Caps run 1 to 30 g each, so a weight is a range rather than a count. 30 g comes out around 9 caps of mixed natural size, 100 g around 31, and 500 g around 155, which is the largest single amount we pack. Milled, 30 g fills about one small jar and 500 g about 17.
Any gram between 30 and 500 can be ordered. The price runs straight down a line between the sizes above, so there is nothing to gain by rounding up to a number we happened to choose. The gram gets cheaper as the weight grows: C$ 1.90 / g at the smallest, C$ 1.12 / g at the largest.
No card is taken on this site. Choosing a weight and completing the checkout holds those pouches for 72 hours and sends Interac e-Transfer instructions to your email. When the transfer clears, the parcel goes out tracked to any address in Canada, and the tracking number follows the same day. A Canada Post tracked parcel is a flat C$21 anywhere in Canada, 2–8 business days. Canada Post Xpresspost is C$32, 1–3 business days. Both are tracked the whole way. From C$150 the tracked parcel is free and the faster service costs only the difference between the two, so it is never a penalty for having spent more.
Yes. There is no shop to walk into, but if you can reach Burnaby we agree a time and a public place by email and hand it over. It costs nothing at any size of order and is usually the same day or the next one. Payment is still an Interac e-Transfer before we meet.
A plain courier envelope with the vacuum-sealed pouch inside it. There is an address on the outside and a tracking barcode, and nothing that says what is in it. Every parcel we send looks the same.
Within 14 days, if the pouch is unopened and the vacuum seal is undamaged. Once a seal is broken the specimen has met the air and cannot go back in the catalogue. A parcel that arrives damaged is a different matter: photograph it before you open anything and write to us.
