Thirty-one caps, mixed as they dried

A hundred grams is about 31 caps. It is the first size where one unusually broad crown no longer changes what the whole pouch looks like, which is why photographs of a hundred-gram lot tell you more about a batch than a photograph of twenty grams does.

The count is not a promise, though. A cap at the top of the 1 to 30 g range weighs 30% of this pouch on its own and still counts as one, so a hundred grams that arrives as half that many broad caps is the same order, correctly filled.

The one size where the two prices read alike

C$149 is C$ 1.49 / g. At a hundred grams the price and the gram price line up, which makes this the easiest size to hold against any other dried fly agaric for sale you have been quoted. 200 g takes the gram to C$ 1.30 / g, about 12% lower, and 50 g costs C$86 if a hundred is more than you want.

C$1 short of free postage

C$149 stops C$1 below the C$150 free-shipping line, so the parcel is the flat C$21 tracked at 2–8 business days, or C$32 by Xpresspost. The rate does not move with the grams: one price to every province and territory.

C$1 is a strange distance to be from anything, and nothing on this site costs C$1. In practice the line gets crossed by a second pouch of any size, or stepped over by 200 g in a single pouch, which ships free on its own and costs less per gram than this size does.

The batch this hundred grams came out of

The October-November 2025 harvest, rested three months under vacuum in the dark before anything was weighed out of it. Single origin: one forest, one autumn, and the same material whether the order is a hundred grams or five hundred.

Kept sealed and dark, a dried specimen holds its colour for years. What that depends on is set out in our notes on storage, and what a cap looks like before the dryer is in the identification guide.

^* No cap comes out of a forest perfectly clean, and a brush only gets so far. Expect the odd spruce needle, a fragment of dry leaf or a little soil in the pouch. We do not wash them: washing would put back the water the dryer spent 36 hours taking out.

Anything sold for people to eat falls under Canada's food and natural health product rules, which is why this is sold as a botanical specimen instead.
