Seventeen jars from one run
Half a kilo of powder divides into roughly 17 small jars, and there is no bigger pouch of fly agaric mushroom for sale here: the other four sizes are counted out in tens of grams, this one in hundreds. Because a batch is milled in one continuous run, the colour and the fineness hold from the first jar to the seventeenth, which is the whole argument for buying a grind this size at once rather than in pieces.
Smaller than the same weight in caps
Milled, the same material takes a fraction of the room it took as caps. Five hundred grams of whole caps is a bulky, mostly-air thing; five hundred grams of grind is a dense block that sits in one hand. The 17 jars are the honest measure of it, and that is less shelf than the number on the label suggests.
Plan the opening, because a cut vacuum pouch does not become a vacuum pouch again. Have the jars ready before the seal goes, fill them in one sitting, close them, put them in the dark, and leave the ones you are not looking at closed for years.

Half a kilo of powder in the post

The batch behind it
The caps came out of the October-November 2025 harvest in British Columbia, single origin, rested three months under vacuum before any of it went near the mill. The next harvest runs from late August into early December and needs its own three-month rest, so a grind this size follows the season rather than the order book.
An amount like this lives sealed more than it lives open, which is what our storage notes are for. The caps it was milled from are the ones described in the identification guide.
* No cap comes out of a forest perfectly clean, and a brush only gets so far. Expect the odd spruce needle, a fragment of dry leaf or a little soil in the pouch. We do not wash them: washing would put back the water the dryer spent 36 hours taking out.
Anything sold for people to eat falls under Canada's food and natural health product rules, which is why this is sold as a botanical specimen instead.
